Again, my last blog post has been a while ago. I also, again, forgot to publish some other posts for quite a while. So, what has happened since last time?

Picking a Linux distribution is not that hard and not that important. This guide aims to provide you with guidance in the process of picking a distribution that suits you. This all not based on what user interface you like, but other aspects.

If you are looking to get into Linux and are looking for advice on which distro to choose, I have a few recommendations below in here and a more general beginner guide here, albeit some information in there may be a bit outdated, for example, I would now recommend CachyOS over EndeavourOS.

Dart format is really f*ing stupid

Like who thought that having a formatter so opinionated that you can’t even change the indentation style is truly baffling.

Motivation

On a laptop, not having full disk encryption is quite a bad idea. What if your laptop is stolen? Everyone with only little computer knowledge and high enough malicious intent can access all your data.
